Pumpkins, and Witches and Ghosts, Oh My!

Yesterday was the first day it finally felt like fall in my neck of the woods. As my hubby was busy watching football I decided to pull out all of my fall decorations and get the holiday transition started. I don’t decorate for Halloween as much as I do for the entire Fall/Harvest season. This way, I find I can leave my decorations out longer and they transition beautifully for Thanksgiving. I’m very grateful for this since I’m sure we will have a houseful this year for Thanksgiving with the arrival of Baby Baron. As I put out my many different candy dishes and pumpkin decorations, I decided that I need to add a little extra flare this year. I went straight to the craft lady herself, Martha Stewart for inspiration. After browsing through her fall craft/decorating ideas I have decided I need to embellish a few pumpkins with glitter and shine. I made the glitter pumpkins a few years back and since they were incredibly easy I’m going to give them a whirl again. Check out all the other ideas Martha has this year to decorate your home. I’m sure you’ll find something to fit your style.

New Additions

I couldn't resist picking up some yummy Valentine's candies.

I typically keep shopping to a bare minimum in January. After being spoiled rotten during the holidays there really isn’t any need for me to make any special purchases. Actually, I get a craving to do the exact opposite. Once all the Christmas decorations are put away I like to de-clutter and  start reorganizing (more on that later). Last weekend I finally made it out to run some errands and make a few returns…and of course a few little treasures happen to come home with me.

This little bit of glitter is a perfect addition in my kitchen.

I can't wait for the arrival of spring to wear these adorable Steve Madden platforms.

This necklace from Forever 21 will be a great addition to many outfits.

I can't wait to wear this tank with a flirty little black skirt and tights. It's so darling!

All that Glitter

My festive Holiday socks

Last night I participated in a class at the gym that was “Glitter/Bling-Bling” themed. We were celebrating a friends farewell from teaching and she loves things that shine. I really think most girls are attracted to the shiny things in life, aka, Diamonds! Anyways, I’m more of a get down to business and sweat kinda girl when I’m at the gym so my glitter was limited to my festive holiday socks. I think I scored extra points since they have faux fur around the top.

Planning for class tonight made me think how much I love things that glitter and shine and how my Holiday decorating is mostly based around it. I thought I would share all things that glitter and are currently making me smile this Holiday season. What makes you smile?

An ornament a friend recently gave me.
A glittery nail polish I found while shopping that I am currently obsessed with.

I don't have a full Nativity Scene yet but this glittery Snow Globe is a good substitute in the mean time.

A sneak peak at the top I am planning on wearing to a New Years Party.

Where Am I?
